Германия urged Israel to ensure the safety of all members of the humanitarian flotilla for Gaza, detained by Israeli authorities. It is believed that the participants in the humanitarian mission have reached the shore, according to a spokesperson from the German foreign ministry, as reported by Reuters.
„We have been in discussions with representatives of the Israeli government and have urged them to fulfill their obligations under international law and to act according to the specifics of the situation. We also asked for the protection of everyone on board to be assured, and as far as we know, this has been complied with,“ the spokesperson stated.
Additionally, he mentioned that the German embassy in Israel is working to connect with all German citizens who might be on board the flotilla.
Meanwhile, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Jelyazkov announced that the Israeli authorities have been informed about the presence of a Bulgarian citizen in the flotilla „Sumud“.
